Delete some of your data without closing your account.
If you want to keep your DanaLaju account active but remove specific categories of data — for example, marketing preferences, device fingerprints, or app usage logs — this page explains how.

What you can delete while keeping your account
The following categories of data can be deleted on request without closing your account:
- Marketing preferences — opt out of promotional notifications, emails, and SMS.
- App usage logs — non-essential analytics data about which screens you visited.
- Device fingerprints — historical device identifiers tied to your account (we'll capture a fresh one on your next sign-in).
- Notification tokens — FCM device tokens for push notifications (you'll need to re-enable notifications afterwards if you want them back).
- Past chat / support history — older support conversation transcripts older than 90 days.
What we cannot delete while your account is active
Some categories of data are required to keep your account functional or to comply with Malaysian law. These cannot be deleted while your account is active:
- Identity records — name, MyKad number, phone, email (required for account access and AMLA).
- eKYC images — MyKad scans and selfie (7-year AMLA retention from your last application).
- Loan and payment records — past + current loan details, repayments, ledger entries (7-year financial-reporting retention).
- Audit logs — records of actions taken on your account, retained for fraud-investigation purposes.
To remove these as well, you must close your account entirely — see Delete your account. Even then, AMLA-required records will be retained for 7 years.
How to request data deletion
Email [email protected] from your registered email address, with:
- Subject: Data Deletion Request
- The last four digits of your MyKad (for identity verification)
- Which data categories you want deleted (use the list above as a checklist, or describe in your own words)
- Optional: reason for the request
What happens next
After identity verification, we will:
- Confirm receipt within 5 business days.
- Action your request within 21 business days of confirmation.
- Send a confirmation email listing exactly what was deleted, with the date.
- Your account stays active — you can keep using DanaLaju normally.
